Bangkok Patana School
As the oldest British international school in Thailand, Bangkok Patana holds strong British values while keeping an international perspective in education. This is apparent not only within the day to day learning but within the student body itself. From Nursery to Year 13, the school has an extremely diverse and open-minded community that is engaged, receptive, and warm.
The English National Curriculum is used, and assessments are given at certain points throughout the year. The final two years of school utilizes the IB Diploma Programme, and Bangkok Patana genuinely develops global citizens as world perspectives are embedded within their curriculum.
Being a not-for-profit school, parents can be assured that all resources go to the betterment of the school’s most important asset, the students. The school aims to be diverse and inclusive within an intercultural community, and one of the greatest strengths of the school is the teachers. They are primarily recruited from the UK or from other British international schools around the world. Each teacher is certified to teach, and the school has a strong understanding that constant professional development is the best way to improve and retain great educators.
Extra-curricular activities are another area where the school shines. Well-rounded students can flourish while taking part in any of the more than 400 extra-curricular activities being run each week. Within the school there are 5 different academies which are: Swimming, Tennis, Gymnastics, Football and Dance and Drama. Students can find and pursue their passions knowing that they have top-notch teachers and facilities to support their needs.
Though the school is relatively large, the primary school enjoys a small community feel. Their classrooms are purpose-built, allowing for the teachers to use the space in a positive, creative way. Playgrounds and collaborative learning spaces have been built specifically for each age group, and parents can rest assured that Bangkok Patana’s grounds are safe and secure.
The secondary school also has learning environments that are purpose-built. The well-appointed Science Centre is state of the art, there are two theatres that are soundproof, many drama studios, and an arts centre that encourages creativity within a space that uses natural light. There are four full-size football pitches within The Sports Complex that also houses eight tennis courts.
The school doesn’t consider itself to be an academically selective school. However, the academic results coming out would make one think otherwise. Bangkok Patana continually scores high when compared with similar schools. The graduates are also going to top-ranked universities around the world, pursuing degrees in different fields such as the arts, engineering, medicine, and sports. The results do speak for themselves, but we highly recommend visiting the school to fully understand more about the community. The admissions office is open year-round, so please do click on inquire to learn more about their programs.
All in all, this is undoubtedly one of the best schools in Bangkok where students can learn, reach their full potential, and be happy and safe.
